You Think of Me

Psalms 139:17-18 (TPT):

Every single moment You are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that You cherish me constantly in Your every thought! O God, Your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, You’re still with me.

Have you ever taken a handful of sand and tried to count the number of grains in your palm? That would be a simple task compared to counting the grains of sand that exist on every shore of the Earth; yet that is exactly how much God is thinking of you-more than all of the grains of sand combined.

I want to remind your heart that not only is God thinking of you constantly, but that the thoughts He has towards you are good thoughts (Jeremiah 29:11). So many of us believe the lies that we are unworthy of love, that God is disappointed with us and that His love for us has somehow expired. I want to assure you that those statements couldn’t be further from the truth.

When we crack open the Word of God, our fixed point of reference for ultimate truth, we hear a different story. God’s Word is inspired by His Holy Spirit and it is unchanging. Culture cannot change truth; our experiences cannot change truth; our opinions cannot change truth; our mistakes cannot change truth. God’s truth is firm and will never change.

His love is lavish (1 John 3:1), nothing can separate us from it (Romans 8:38-39), and it endures forever (Psalms 136:26).

He didn’t wait for us to “get our act together” before He chose to demonstrate His love for us. Scripture says that “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). We spend a lot of time wondering why such a perfect, holy, loving God would choose to love flawless people. I wonder why flawed people wouldn’t choose to love a perfect, holy, loving God.

We are always on His mind. The question is, is He on ours?
